Located where the "Sierra Madre Occidental" Mountains, numerous rivers, and the Pacific Ocean converge in the Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta is one of the most sought-after destinations in North America, in one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Arriving at our city and getting around once you’re here couldn’t be much simpler.
Easily accessible via a short flight from major U.S. and Canadian cities, getting to Puerto Vallarta is a breeze. You will need proof of citizenship (a passport) to fly into Mexico, and once on the plane your airline attendant will hand you the FMM (visa) form to fill out and turn in to the immigration official once you land. The Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Airport has recently undergone a beautiful remodel, making your arrival that much more pleasant.
Sea way transport
Maybe you will be visiting the city as one of the main stops on one of the 270 cruise ships that arrive in Puerto Vallarta every year. A recent expansion to the cruise ship port increased its capacity to receive up to four ships simultaneously. It is a magnificent way to arrive in PV. The cruise lines that will be arriving in Puerto Vallarta during 2013 include:
- Carnival Cruises
- Celebrity Cruises
- Crystal Cruises
- Cruceros Disney
- Holland America
- Norwegian Cruise Line
- Oceania Cruises
- Princess Cruises
- Royal Caribbean International
Transportation while in Puerto Vallarta is no trouble at all. There are many car rental companies, should you choose to go that route, but you may find it easier to take a taxi or just ride one of the numerous bus lines which allow you to move comfortably and inexpensively to almost all the tourist locations and hotels.
